BASED IN AMSTERDAM, WORKING everywhere

Dark Arts is a creative studio led by Colin Lamberton, former ECD at Grey, Arnold, Fallon and Iris.

We’re a small, experienced team of design & advertising professionals, using creativity to make brands more attractive.

We work in a simple, efficient way, and believe our focus on behaviour and persuasion builds paths from people to products more effectively.

We’re based in Amsterdam but work with clients and collaborators across the world.

OUR APPROACH

We’ve worked in design & advertising for over 20 years and believe that every project brings its own unique problems and opportunities.

However, we’ve developed a simple set of principles we apply to any project we work on — Attention, Attribution & Action.

ATTENTION

Whether it’s onscreen, in-store, or on the street — the first thing is to make sure you’re noticed.

Billions of dollars are wasted every year on work that is just not impactful enough.

We start by thinking about what will get you noticed and talked about.

ATTRIBUTION

There’s no point making an amazing ad if people can’t remember who its for.

Our work for Jack Daniel’s was unmistakably Jack, reworking their traditional story-telling for a younger crowd.

Our Helpling concepts make the brand name unforgettable. And our work for Shorts TV was all about letting people know what they were watching

ACTION

We believe brand communication can do more than raise awareness. We use behavioural science to encourage action

Our work for the UK government and the Council of Europe gave simple steps to change ingrained behaviour.

Our social media work for Uber gave people a reason to follow.

And our campaigns for Stüssy were specifically designed to ensure viewers not only engaged but shared.
